Do you coach beginers?

Absolutely yes! I love introducing people to new skills and enjoy watching them build confidence. It’s a great feeling to see others getting a thrill from learning skills they never thought they would!

What are your qualifications and experience?

I’ve coached mountain biking with Bedgebury Forest Cycle Club since 2022. I am qualified as a British Cycling Coach and have a current First Aid certificate. There are more details about my coaching qualifications on my about page.

Do you coach E Bikers?

Yes, I don’t own an ebike myself but I’m happy to coach someone that does. The core skills are still the same, so small adjustments are made for weight and speed.

What kind of bike can I use?

Most types of off-road bike, although a BMX wouldn’t be suitable. It needs to be in good working order with front and back brakes.

I’d recommend using the bike that you use most off-road. If you want to work on mountain bike skills for Bedgebury or similar trail centres, a hardtail MTB is good for learning.

What happens if it rains?

Depends what kind of rain! I’m happy to do a session in the rain but we need to see what we’re doing so if it’s bad, we’ll reschedule.

Do you coach jumps and drops?

Currently no because my qualifications and insurance don’t cover jumps and drops. If you’re looking for this, I can refer you to some other coaches.
